We are considering a permanent sensor on the roof of the culture centre, mainly to have evidence when the street lighting contract is renewed. The handheld meter gives us snapshots; what we lack is a continuous series.
Has anyone installed one? I am interested in the practical side: power, network, calibration, and how much data cleaning it generates afterwards.
We have one running for fourteen months. Practical summary: power over ethernet solved the power question, the network was the easy part, and calibration is the part nobody warns you about. Expect a couple of weeks of puzzling before the numbers look sane.
One warning: check the field of view against the new lamp posts before drilling. Ours ended up pointing straight at a LED that was installed six months later, and the series is only usable after filtering out that period.
