We have been charging per person and it works for groups of fifteen or more, but for a family of four the total looks expensive next to a cinema ticket, and I suspect we lose bookings because of it.
Has anyone moved to a flat rate per session? I am interested in whether it improved conversion and what it did to the average group size.
We moved to a flat rate for up to six people and per person above that. Conversion improved immediately, average group size went down slightly and revenue per session stayed the same. What really changed is that we stopped negotiating on the phone.
We kept per person but added a family ticket for two adults and two children. Less elegant than a flat rate, but it keeps the accounting simple and it is easy to explain at the door.
